OK! If you have gotten this far in the website, you might appreciate what I feel are the FOUR biggest priorities in hiring a photographer for a wedding or family portrait.

Number ONE and MOST important:

You need to feel incredibly "comfortable" with this person. Any kind of conflict or uncomfortability will show in your eyes in the photograph. This is important because your eyes are the first place you look when you view an image. If this photographer allows you into his or her heart and you allow him or her into yours, your photographs can't help but to be the most remarkable images you've ever felt.

Number TWO:

Is the "quality" of the work there, are the images clear, is the color true, has the use of special effects been done with taste? Ask to see some work that is not for display, for instance, an entire photo session or wedding originals.

Number THREE:

Is the photography the "style" you are looking for? Do you want casually posed family and wedding formals or do you want a studio set up in your home the day of the wedding? Is the photographer a story teller or an event recorder? Is photojournalism what you want? It is very important that you educate yourself by asking questions about what you expectations of the end result. Is the photographer MORE than willing to put on film what YOU want rather than what they want?

Number FOUR:

Will all of the above fit into your "BUDGET"? The end results of Wedding and Family portraiture are the photographs; these are the things that last a lifetime. These images will speak to you even when you recall them in your mind. I wish I had a nickel for every bride’s mother that has reminded me of the mistake they made in hiring for "PRICE".

Remember:
Photographs are fragile paper timeships dusted with emotion and memory.

Heirlooms are Priceless
